Component Testing

Static Test
- Ignition/Vehicle - Off
- Disconnect the electrical connector: X159 Inline Harness Connector
- Test for 6 to 12 ohms between the test points:Control terminal D & Low Reference terminal E
- If not between 6 to 12 ohms
Replace the component:Q6 Camshaft Position Actuator Solenoid Valve
- If between 6 to 12 ohms
- If not between 6 to 12 ohms
- Test for infinite resistance between the test points:Each terminal of the component & The component's housing
- If less than infinite resistance
Replace the component:Q6 Camshaft Position Actuator Solenoid Valve
- If infinite resistance
- If less than infinite resistance
- All OK.
Dynamic Test
- Ignition/Vehicle - Off
- Disconnect the electrical connector: X159 Inline Harness Connector
- Connect a jumper wire between the test points:Low Reference terminal E & Ground
- Momentarily connect a 7.5 A fused jumper wire between the test points:Control terminal D & 12 V
Verify the component turns On and Off when connecting and disconnecting the jumper wire:Q6 Camshaft Position Actuator Solenoid Valve
- If the component does not turn On and Off
Replace the component:Q6 Camshaft Position Actuator Solenoid Valve
- If the component turns On and Off
- If the component does not turn On and Off
- All OK.
CAUTION:
Complete the testing as quickly as possible in order to prevent overheating and damaging the component.
