Removal Procedure

  1. Remove the transmission fluid filter (4). Refer to Automatic Transmission Fluid, Fluid Pan and/or Filter Replacement (Rear Wheel Drive)  and Automatic Transmission Fluid, Fluid Pan and/or Filter Replacement (All Wheel Drive)

  2. Remove the auxiliary fluid accumulator. Refer to Auxiliary Fluid Accumulator Replacement 
  3. Remove the transmission fluid baffle (2). Refer to Transmission Fluid Baffle Replacement

  4. Remove the transmission control wiring harness. Refer to Transmission Control Wiring Harness Replacement (M5N) 
  5. Remove the manual shaft detent lever spring retaining bolt (1) and the manual shaft detent lever spring (2).

  6. Disconnect the manual valve (1) from the manual shift shaft position switch assembly linkage (2).

  7. Remove the transmission fluid pump driven sprocket (1). Refer to transmission fluid baffle and driven sprocket in Control Valve Assembly and Transmission Wiring Harness Removal .

  8. Using DT-48285  Valve Body Torx Plus Socket remove the valve body bolts (1, 2) and the vale body assembly (3) from the transmission.
