Circuit/System Testing
- Ignition OFF.
- Remove the steering wheel spoke cover. Refer to Steering Wheel Spoke Cover Replacement .
- Disconnect the harness connector from the S2L Transmission Manual Shift Switch - Left.
- Test for less than 10 Ω between the ground circuit terminal 2 and ground.
- If 10 Ω or greater
- Test for less than 2 Ω in the ground circuit end to end.
- If 2 Ω or greater, repair the open/high resistance in the circuit.
- If less than 2 Ω, repair the open/high resistance in the ground connection.
- If less than 10 Ω
- Ignition ON.
- Test for 11 V or greater between the signal circuit terminal 1 of the S2L Transmission Manual Shift Switch - Left connector and ground.
- If less than 11 V
- Ignition OFF, disconnect the X2 harness connector at the K9 Body Control Module.
- Test for infinite resistance between the signal circuit and ground.
- If less than infinite resistance
- Disconnect the harness connector from the S2R Transmission Manual Shift Switch - Right.
- Test for infinite resistance between the signal circuit terminal 1 and ground.
- If less than infinite resistance, repair the short to ground on the circuit.
- If infinite resistance
- Test for infinite resistance between the signal circuit terminal 3 at the S2R Transmission Manual Shift Switch - Right connector and ground.
- If less than infinite resistance, replace the steering wheel pad accessory wiring harness.
- If infinite resistance, replace the S2R Transmission Manual Shift Switch - Right.
- If infinite resistance
- Test for less than 2 Ω in the signal circuit end to end.
- If 2 Ω or greater, repair the open/high resistance in the circuit.
- If less than 2 Ω, replace the K9 Body Control Module.
- If 11 V or greater
- Ignition OFF, disconnect the harness connector from the S2R Transmission Manual Shift Switch - Right.
- Test for 11 V or greater between the signal circuit terminal 1 of the S2R Transmission Manual Shift Switch - Right connector and ground.
- If less than 11 V
- Ignition OFF, disconnect the X2 harness connector at the K9 Body Control Module.
- Test for infinite resistance between the signal circuit and ground.
- If less than infinite resistance, repair the short to ground on the circuit.
- If infinite resistance
- Test for less than 2 Ω in the signal circuit end to end.
- If 2 Ω or greater, repair the open/high resistance in the circuit.
- If less than 2 Ω, replace the K9 Body Control Module.
- If 11 V or greater
- Test or replace the inoperative switch.
NOTE:
You must perform the Circuit/System Verification first.
