Circuit/System Testing

    NOTE:

You must perform the Circuit/System Verification first.

  1. Ignition OFF.
  2. Remove the steering wheel spoke cover. Refer to Steering Wheel Spoke Cover Replacement .
  3. Disconnect the harness connector from the S2L Transmission Manual Shift Switch - Left.
  4. Test for less than 10 Ω between the ground circuit terminal 2 and ground.
    • If 10 Ω or greater
    1. Test for less than 2 Ω in the ground circuit end to end.
      • If 2 Ω or greater, repair the open/high resistance in the circuit.
      • If less than 2 Ω, repair the open/high resistance in the ground connection.
    • If less than 10 Ω
  5. Ignition ON.
  6. Test for 11 V or greater between the signal circuit terminal 1 of the S2L Transmission Manual Shift Switch - Left connector and ground.
    • If less than 11 V
    1. Ignition OFF, disconnect the X2 harness connector at the K9 Body Control Module.
    2. Test for infinite resistance between the signal circuit and ground.
      • If less than infinite resistance
      1. Disconnect the harness connector from the S2R Transmission Manual Shift Switch - Right.
      2. Test for infinite resistance between the signal circuit terminal 1 and ground.
        • If less than infinite resistance, repair the short to ground on the circuit.
        • If infinite resistance
      3. Test for infinite resistance between the signal circuit terminal 3 at the S2R Transmission Manual Shift Switch - Right connector and ground.
        • If less than infinite resistance, replace the steering wheel pad accessory wiring harness.
        • If infinite resistance, replace the S2R Transmission Manual Shift Switch - Right.
      • If infinite resistance
    3. Test for less than 2 Ω in the signal circuit end to end.
      • If 2 Ω or greater, repair the open/high resistance in the circuit.
      • If less than 2 Ω, replace the K9 Body Control Module.
    • If 11 V or greater
  7. Ignition OFF, disconnect the harness connector from the S2R Transmission Manual Shift Switch - Right.
  9. Ignition ON.
  10. Test for 11 V or greater between the signal circuit terminal 1 of the S2R Transmission Manual Shift Switch - Right connector and ground.
    • If less than 11 V
    1. Ignition OFF, disconnect the X2 harness connector at the K9 Body Control Module.
    2. Test for infinite resistance between the signal circuit and ground.
      • If less than infinite resistance, repair the short to ground on the circuit.
      • If infinite resistance
    3. Test for less than 2 Ω in the signal circuit end to end.
      • If 2 Ω or greater, repair the open/high resistance in the circuit.
      • If less than 2 Ω, replace the K9 Body Control Module.
    • If 11 V or greater
  11. Test or replace the inoperative switch.
