Removal Procedure

  1. Set the park brake and chock the wheels.

  3. Disconnect the transmission range selector lever cable terminal (1) from the transmission manual shift lever pin (2).

  5. Press the locking tabs inward (1) in order to release the transmission range selector lever cable (2) from the cable bracket (3).
  6. Remove the left front floor console extension panel from the console. Refer to Front Floor Console Extension Panel Replacement - Left Side .

  8. Disconnect the transmission range selector lever cable terminal (1) from the transmission control shift lever pin (2).
  9. Press the locking tabs inward (3) in order to release the transmission range selector lever cable (4) from the transmission control assembly.

    NOTE:

    This Step is for transmission range selector lever cables with the terminal end tab.

  11. If the transmission range selector lever cable terminal grommet (3) at the terminal end (1) is unseated during removal, ensure that it is installed correctly back into the terminal end. The recess (2) on the transmission range selector lever cable terminal end must face inboard towards the shift lever pin (4).

    NOTE:

    This Step is for transmission range selector lever cables without the terminal end tab.

  13. If the transmission range selector lever cable terminal grommet (3) at the terminal end (1) is unseated during removal, ensure that it is installed correctly back into the terminal end. The recess (2) on the transmission range selector lever cable terminal end must face inboard towards the shift lever pin (4).
  14. Reposition the front left carpet to access the shift cable grommet.

  16. Remove the transmission range selector lever cable grommet (1) from the cowl panel.
  17. Remove the transmission range selector lever cable from the vehicle.
