Preliminary Procedures
- Remove the liftgate. Refer to Liftgate Replacement .
- Lower the rear of the headliner to access the inner bolts. Refer to Headlining Trim Panel Replacement (With C3U)Headlining Trim Panel Replacement (Without C3U)
.
- Use a grease pencil to mark the liftgate hinge position to the body prior to removal.

Tighten
25 N.m (18 lb ft) |

Liftgate Hinge Bolt
Tighten
25 N.m (18 lb ft) |
| 3 |
Liftgate Hinge Procedure
- Remove old gasket material.
- Paint the hinge mounting area. Refer to Basecoat/Clearcoat Paint Systems
.
- Install a NEW gasket with hinge.
- Adjust the liftgate if needed.
