Special Tools BO-38185 Hose Clamp Pliers For equivalent regional tools, refer to Special Tools . Preliminary Procedures Remove the intake manifold cover. Refer to Intake Manifold Cover Replacement (LFX) , Intake Manifold Cover Replacement (LF3) . Remove the fuel pipe shield. Refer to Fuel Pipe Shield Replacement (LFX) , Fuel Pipe Shield Replacement (LF3) . Reposition the engine control module. Refer to Engine Control Module Replacement (LFX) , Engine Control Module Replacement (LF3) . Drain the cooling system. Refer to Cooling System Draining and Filling (Static Fill) , Cooling System Draining and Filling (GE 47716) .

3	Surge Tank Hose
4	Radiator Outlet Hose
5	Engine Coolant Thermostat Housing Fasteners (Qty: 3) CAUTION: Refer to Fastener Caution . Tighten 10 N.m (89 lb in)
6	Engine Cooling Thermostat Housing Procedure Clean the engine block and thermostat gasket surfaces. Install a NEW gasket and replace any worn hoses.
