Circuit/System Testing
WARNING: This page is about a different variant/trim than selected.
- Ignition OFF, disconnect the harness connector at the Q13 evaporative emissions vent solenoid valve.
- Ignition OFF, verify that a test lamp illuminates between the B+ circuit terminal B or 2 and ground.
- If the test lamp does not illuminate, test the B+ circuit for a short to ground or an open/high resistance. If the circuit tests normal and the B+ circuit fuse is open, test all components connected to the B+ circuit and replace as necessary.
- Ignition ON, verify that a test lamp does not illuminate between the B+ circuit terminal B or 2 and the control circuit terminal A or 1.
- If the test lamp illuminates, test the control circuit for a short to ground. If the circuit tests normal, replace the K20 engine control module.
- Remove the test lamp, and install a 3 A fused jumper wire between the control circuit terminal A or 1 and the B+ circuit terminal B or 2. Command the vent solenoid ON with a scan tool. Verify the scan tool EVAP Vent Solenoid Valve Control Circuit High Voltage Test Status is Fault.
- If not the specified value, test the control circuit for an open/high resistance. If the circuit tests normal, replace the K20 engine control module.
- If all circuits test normal, test or replace the Q13 evaporative emissions vent solenoid valve.
