Circuit/System Testing
WARNING: This page is about a different variant/trim than selected.
- Ignition OFF, disconnect the harness connector at the Q12 Evaporative Emission Purge Solenoid Valve.
- Ignition ON, verify that a test lamp illuminates between the ignition circuit terminal A and ground.
- If the test lamp does not illuminate, test the ignition circuit for a short to ground or an open/high resistance. If the circuit tests normal and the ignition circuit fuse is not open, test all components connected to the voltage supply circuit and replace as necessary.
- Verify that a test lamp does not illuminate between the ignition circuit terminal A and the control circuit terminal B.
- If the test lamp illuminates, test the control circuit for a short to ground. If the circuit tests normal, replace the K20 Engine Control Module.
- Remove the test lamp, and install a 3 A fused jumper wire between the control circuit terminal B and the ignition circuit terminal A. Command the purge solenoid to 50 % with a scan tool. Verify the scan tool EVAP Purge Solenoid Valve Control Circuit High Voltage Test Status parameter is Malfunction.
- If not the specified value and, the circuit tests normal, replace the K20 Engine Control Module.
- If all circuits test normal, replace the Q12 Evaporative Emission Purge Solenoid Valve.
