Preliminary Procedures Remove the shock absorber module nuts. Refer to Shock Absorber and Spring Removal and Installation . Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle . Remove the front tire and wheel assembly. Refer to Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation (6-Lug Wheel) , Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation (8-Lug Wheel) .
1	Upper Ball Joint Nut CAUTION: Refer to Fastener Caution . Procedure Disconnect the speed sensor electrical connector. Place a suitable support under the lower control arm and load the suspension. Use the J-42188-B ball joint separator to separate the ball joint from the steering knuckle. Remove and discard the ball joint nut. Replace with NEW only. Tighten 50 (37 lb ft) Special Tools J-42188-B Ball Joint Separator
2	Upper Control Arm Nut (Qty: 2) Tighten 190 (140 lb ft)
3	Upper Control Arm Alignment Cam (Qty: 4)
4	Upper Control Arm Bolt (Qty: 2) Procedure Pull the shock absorber module down and reposition as necessary to gain the clearance necessary to remove the front and rear bolts.
5	Upper Control Arm Procedure Verify wheel alignment. Refer to Wheel Alignment Specifications .
