Component Testing

WARNING: This page is about a different variant/trim than selected.
    NOTE:

    If the a/trans wiring harness circuits fail the circuit tests, replace the harness; do not repair.

  1. Vehicle ON.
  2. Verify that DTC P1AF0, P1AF2, P1B43, P1B44, P1B0B, or P1B0C is not set.
    • If none of the DTCs are set 
  3. Vehicle OFF, disconnect the X175/X176 harness connector at the transmission.
  4. Install the DT-48493  jumper harness to the transmission side only.
  5. Test for 6-9 Ω between the reference circuit terminal 15 and the reference circuit terminal 16.
    • If less than 6 Ω 
    1. Disconnect the harness connector at the M15B Drive Motor 2.
    2. Test for infinite resistance between the reference circuit terminal 15 and the reference circuit terminal 16.
      • If less than infinite resistance, replace the a/trans wiring harness.
      • If infinite resistance, replace the M15B Drive Motor 2.
    • If greater than 9 Ω 
    1. Disconnect the harness connector at the M15B Drive Motor 2.
    2. Test for less than 2 Ω in the reference circuits end to end.
      • If 2 Ω or greater, replace the a/trans wiring harness.
      • If less than 2 Ω, replace the M15B Drive Motor 2.
    • If between 6-9 Ω 
  6. Test for 19-23 Ω between the signal circuit 2 terminal 20 and the signal circuit 2 terminal 21.
    • If less than 19 Ω 
    1. Disconnect the harness connector at the M15B Drive Motor 2.
    2. Test for infinite resistance between the signal circuit 2 terminal 20 and the signal circuit 2 terminal 21.
      • If less than infinite resistance, replace the a/trans wiring harness.
      • If infinite resistance, replace the M15B Drive Motor 2.
    • If greater than 23 Ω 
    1. Disconnect the harness connector at the M15B Drive Motor 2.
    2. Test for less than 2 Ω in the signal circuits end to end.
      • If 2 Ω or greater, replace the a/trans wiring harness.
      • If less than 2 Ω, replace the M15B Drive Motor 2.
    • If between 19-23 Ω 
  7. Test for 22-26 Ω between the signal circuit 1 terminal 17 and the signal circuit 1 terminal 18.
    • If less than 22 Ω 
    1. Disconnect the harness connector at the M15B Drive Motor 2.
    2. Test for infinite resistance between the signal circuit 1 terminal 17 and the signal circuit 2 terminal 18.
      • If less than infinite resistance, replace the a/trans wiring harness.
      • If infinite resistance, replace the M15B Drive Motor 2.
    • If greater than 26 Ω 
    1. Disconnect the harness connector at the M15B Drive Motor 2.
    2. Test for less than 2 Ω in the signal circuits end to end.
      • If 2 Ω or greater, replace the a/trans wiring harness.
      • If less than 2 Ω, replace the M15B Drive Motor 2.
    • If between 22-26 Ω 
  8. Test for greater than 10,000 Ω between the terminals listed below and ground:
    • Reference circuit terminal 15
    • Reference circuit terminal 16
    • Signal circuit 2 terminal 20
    • Signal circuit 2 terminal 21
    • Signal circuit 1 terminal 17
    • Signal circuit 1 terminal 18
    • If less than 10,000 Ω 
    1. Disconnect the harness connector at the M15B Drive Motor 2.
    2. Test for less than infinite resistance between the appropriate terminal and ground.
      • If less than infinite resistance, replace the a/trans wiring harness.
      • If infinite resistance, replace the M15B Drive Motor 2.
    • If 10,000 Ω or greater 
  9. Test for infinite resistance between the terminals listed below:
    • Terminals 15 and 17
    • Terminals 15 and 20
    • Terminals 17 and 20
    • If less than infinite resistance 
    1. Disconnect the harness connector at the M15B Drive Motor 2.
    2. Test for less than infinite resistance between the appropriate terminals.
      • If less than infinite resistance, replace the a/trans wiring harness.
      • If infinite resistance, replace the M15B Drive Motor 2.
    • If infinite resistance 
  10. Refer to Circuit/System Testing .
