Rear Output Shaft Seal Replacement

Rear Output Shaft Seal Replacement

Callout Component Name
CAUTION:

Do not damage the sealing surfaces of the transfer cases or the shafts when prying the seals for removal. Damaging the sealing surface may cause leakage or require replacement of the damaged component.

Preliminary Procedure Remove the rear propeller shaft. Refer to Rear Propeller Shaft Replacement .
1 Transfer Case Output Shaft Seal

Procedure

  1. Remove the seal using an appropriate tool.
  2. Install the seal with the notch at the top and the weep hole at the bottom.

TIP:  Use the appropriate seal installer depending on application.
