Front Output Shaft Drive Sprocket Bearing Replacement

Front Output Shaft Drive Sprocket Bearing Replacement

Callout Component Name

Preliminary Procedure

  • Using the J 35512  bearing installer and an arbor press, remove the bearing assemblies from the drive sprocket.
  • Ensure the bearings are installed squarely into the drive sprocket bore.
  • Install the bearings from the top with the clutch teeth facing down.

1 Transfer Case Front Output Shaft Drive Sprocket Bearing Assembly - Front

Procedure

  • Install the bearing using the long side of the DT-48211  bearing installer.
  • Ensure the flat edge of the bearing is facing upward.
  • Using an arbor press or hammer, install the bearing until the tool bottoms on the drive sprocket.

  • DT-48211  Drive Sprocket Bearing Installer
  • J 8092  Universal Driver
  • J 35512  Inner Pinion Bearing Installer

2 Transfer Case Front Output Shaft Drive Sprocket Bearing Assembly - Rear

Procedure

  • Install the bearing using the short side of the DT-48211  bearing installer.
  • Ensure the flat edge of the bearing is facing upward.
  • Using an arbor press or hammer, install the bearing until the tool bottoms on the drive sprocket.

  • J 8092  Universal Driver
  • J 35512  Inner Pinion Bearing Installer
