Circuit/System Verification
WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2012 GMC Yukon XL and 2012 Chevrolet Suburban. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
NOTE:
If the condition is intermittent or cannot be duplicated, disconnect the connectors and add Nyogel lubricant 760G. This procedure will correct the high resistance condition due to terminal fretting corrosion.
- Ignition ON.
- Verify the scan tool Steering Wheel Position parameter corresponds to the actual steering wheel position as the steering wheel is turned through its entire range of motion.
- If the parameter does not correspond with the steering wheel position or the reading is erratic
Refer to Circuit/System Testing.
- If the parameter corresponds with the steering wheel position
- If the parameter does not correspond with the steering wheel position or the reading is erratic
- Verify the scan tool Digital SWPS Phase A parameter cycles between Low and High as the steering wheel is centered and then turned through its entire range of motion.
- If the parameter does not cycle between Low and High as the steering wheel is turned
Refer to Circuit/System Testing.
- If the parameter cycles between Low and High as the steering wheel is turned
- If the parameter does not cycle between Low and High as the steering wheel is turned
- Verify the scan tool Digital SWPS Phase B parameter cycles between Low and High as the steering wheel is centered and then turned through its entire range of motion.
- If the parameter does not cycle between Low and High as the steering wheel is turned
Refer to Circuit/System Testing.
- If the parameter cycles between Low and High as the steering wheel is turned
- If the parameter does not cycle between Low and High as the steering wheel is turned
- All OK.
