Preliminary Procedures Disable the roof rail SIR system. Refer to SIR Disabling and Enabling . Remove the rear opening garnish molding. Refer to Rear Door Upper Garnish Molding Replacement . Disconnect the liftgate actuator rod as required. Refer to Liftgate Actuator Rod Replacement (Except Avalanche and EXT Escalade) .
1	Body Rear Corner Upper Garnish Molding Cover Procedure Disconnect the 2 electrical connectors.
2	Body Rear Corner Upper Garnish Molding Screw CAUTION: Refer to Fastener Caution . Tighten 2 N.m (18 lb in)
3	Body Rear Corner Upper Garnish Molding Assembly TIP: During installation move the liftgate weatherstrip outward slightly to ensure the garnish trim is installed behind the weatherstrip.
