Installation Procedure

- Install a NEW seal to the indicator tube.
- Install the oil level indicator tube, if equipped with RPO HP2.
- Install a NEW seal to the indicator tube.
- Install the oil level indicator tube.
- Install the indicator tube bolt, if equipped with RPO HP2.
Tighten: Tighten the bolt to 22 N.m (16 lb ft).
- Install the indicator tube nut.
Tighten: Tighten the nut to 22 N.m (16 lb ft).
- Remove the plugs from the transmission oil cooler line fittings.
- Connect the transmission oil cooler lines. Refer to Transmission Fluid Cooler Hose/Pipe Quick-Connect Fitting Disconnection and Connection .
- Remove the transmission heat shield.
Tighten: Tighten the bolts to 17 N.m (12 lb ft).
- Tighten the right exhaust pipe nuts.
Tighten: Tighten the nuts to 50 N.m (37 lb ft).
- Tighten the left exhaust pipe nuts.
Tighten: Tighten the nuts to 50 N.m (37 lb ft).
- Install the transmission crossmember. Refer to Transmission Support Crossmember Replacement (4WD 2500 Series) or Transmission Support Crossmember Replacement (4WD 1500 Series) or Transmission Support Crossmember Replacement (2WD 2500 Series) or Transmission Support Crossmember Replacement (2WD 1500 Series) .
- Remove the support from the transmission.
- Lower the vehicle.
- Install the transmission oil level indicator.
- Lock the transmission oil level indicator.
- Install the intake manifold. Refer to Intake Manifold Replacement (RPOs LY2, LY6) or Intake Manifold Replacement (RPOs LC9, LMG, LY5, L76) or Intake Manifold Replacement (Except RPOs LY2, LY6, LC9, LMG, LY5, ) .
