Adjustment Procedure

  1. Place the transmission shift control lever 2 into the NEUTRAL position.
  2. Raise the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle .

  4. Slide the shift cable secondary lock 1 forward.

  6. With a small flat-blade screwdriver, reposition the shift cable primary lock 1 outward to UNLOCK the cable rod from the cable adjuster body.
  7. Ensure that the transmission range select lever and shifter are each in the NEUTRAL position.

  9. Press in on the cable primary lock 1 until seated.
  10. Slide the secondary lock 1 rearward.
  11. Lower the vehicle.

  13. Place the transmission shifter control lever 2 into the PARK position. Ensure that the vehicle is prevented from rolling when the shifter selector lever is in the PARK position.
  14. Make sure that the starter motor will not operate when the shifter selector lever is placed in the reverse or drive position.
