Circuit/System Testing
- Ignition OFF, disconnect the harness connector at the driver information center (DIC) switch.
- Ignition OFF, test for less than 1 ohm of resistance between the ground circuit terminal 7 and ground.
- If greater than 1 ohm, test the ground circuit for an open/high resistance.
- Ignition ON, verify that all scan tool DIC Switch parameters are Inactive.
- If any DIC switch parameter is not Inactive, test the appropriate switch signal circuit for a short to ground.
- DIC Information Down Switch Signal Circuit Terminal 3
- DIC Information Up Switch Signal Circuit Terminal 1
- DIC Options Switch Signal Circuit Terminal 5
- DIC Reset Switch Signal Terminal 6
- If the circuits test normal, replace the instrument panel cluster (IPC).
- Ignition ON, install a 3-amp fused jumper wire between the DIC switch signal circuits at the appropriate terminals and the ground circuit terminal 7. Verify that all scan tool DIC switch parameters are Active.
- If any DIC switch parameter is not Active, test the suspect signal circuit for a short to voltage or an open/high resistance. If the circuit(s) tests normal, replace the IPC.
- If all circuits test normal, test or replace the DIC switch.
