Circuit/System Testing

  1. Ignition OFF, disconnect the harness connector at the head-up display (HUD)/Dimmer switch.
  2. Test for less than 1.0 ohm of resistance between the low reference circuit terminal 5 and ground.
    • If greater than 1.0 ohm, test the low reference circuit for an open/high resistance.
  3. Install a 3A fused jumper wire between the following switch signal circuit terminals and the low reference circuit terminal 5. Verify the scan tool Adjust Display Down Switch or Adjust Display Up Switch parameter is Active.
    • Image Down Switch Signal Terminal 6
    • Image Up Switch Signal Terminal 7
    • If not Active, test the appropriate switch signal circuit for an open/high resistance. If the circuit(s) test normal, replace the HUD.
  4. If all circuits test normal, test or replace the HUD switch.
