Circuit/System Testing
- Ignition OFF, disconnect the harness connector at the driver information center (DIC) switch assembly.
- Ignition OFF, test for less than 1 ohm of resistance between the low reference circuit terminal 8 and ground.
- If greater than 1 ohm, test the circuit for an open/high resistance.
- Ignition ON, scan tool installed, verify that all scan tool DIC Switch parameters in the IPC Data List are Inactive.
- If any DIC switch parameters are not Inactive, test the signal circuits terminal 9. If the circuit tests normal, replace the instrument panel cluster (IPC).
- Ignition ON, install a 3A fused jumper wire between the DIC switch signal circuit terminal 9 and the low reference circuit terminal 8. Verify that any scan tool DIC switch parameters are Active.
- If not Active, test the signal circuit for a short to voltage or an open/high resistance. If the circuit tests normal, replace the IPC.
- If all circuits test normal, test or replace the DIC switch.
