Circuit/System Testing

  1. Ignition OFF, disconnect the secondary (right) fuel level sensor connector.
  2. Ignition ON, with the scan tool observe the Fuel Level Sensor Right Tank parameter. Verify the Fuel Level Sensor Right Tank parameter is 4.5 volts or greater.
    • If the Fuel Level Sensor Right Tank parameter is less than 4.5 volts, test the fuel level sensor signal circuit for a short to ground. If the secondary (right) fuel level sensor circuit tests normal, replace the ECM.
  3. If all circuits test normal, test or replace the secondary (right) fuel level sensor.
