Low Oil Level

The instrument panel cluster (IPC) illuminates the LOW OIL LEVEL message in the driver information center (DIC) when the engine control module (ECM) detects low engine oil level condition and the engine oil level switch/sensor signal circuit is high. The ECM only monitors the signal circuit of the engine oil level switch/sensor for a brief period when the key moves from ON to START. The IPC receives a class 2 message from the ECM requesting illumination of the LOW OIL LEVEL message.
