Circuit/System Testing

  1. Ignition ON, scan tool installed and the rear compartment fully open, verify the rear compartment lid ajar parameter in the rear integration module (RIM) Data List is Trunk Closed.
    • If not, replace the instrument panel cluster (IPC).
  2. Ignition OFF, disconnect the harness connector at the rear compartment lid release actuator.
  3. Ignition OFF, test for less than 1 ohm of resistance between the ground circuit and ground.
    • If greater than 1 ohm, test the ground circuit for an open/high resistance.
  4. Ignition ON, install a 3 Amp fused jumper wire between the rear compartment lid ajar switch signal circuit and ground. Verify that the rear compartment lid ajar parameter in the rear integration module (RIM) Data List is Trunk Open.
    • If not, test the rear compartment lid ajar switch signal circuit for an open/high resistance. If the circuit tests normal, replace the RIM.
  5. If all circuits tests normal, replace the rear compartment lid release actuator.
