Circuit/System Testing
- Ignition OFF, disconnect the harness connector at the driver information center (DIC) switch assembly.
- Ignition OFF, test for less than 1 ohm of resistance between the Trip A/B ground circuit and ground.
- If greater than 1 ohm, test the ground circuit for an open/high resistance.
- Ignition ON, scan tool installed, verify that the Trip A/B Switch parameter in the IPC Data List is Inactive.
- If not Inactive, test the signal circuit for a short to ground. If the circuit tests normal, replace the instrument panel cluster (IPC).
- Ignition ON, install a 3-Amp fused jumper wire between the Trip A/B switch signal circuit and the ground circuit. Verify that the scan tool Trip A/B Switch parameter in the IPC Data List is Active.
- If not Active, test the Trip A/B switch signal circuit for a short to voltage or an open/high resistance. If the circuit tests normal, replace the IPC.
- If all circuits test normal, test or replace the DIC switch.
