Preliminary Procedure: Remove the right and left front floor console appliques. Refer to Front Floor Console Applique Replacement .
1	Front Floor Console Transmission Opening Trim Plate Assembly Procedure Use a flat bladed trim tool and release the retainers securing the front floor console transmission opening trim plate to the console assembly. Disconnect the electrical connections. Firmly grasp the shift control knob and pull straight up using enough force to release the retainer clip securing the shift control knob and boot assembly to the shift lever. When replacing the front floor console transmission opening trim plate, transfer all necessary components. Tip: Detaching the shift control knob from the shift lever may require a large amount of physical effort. The front floor console transmission opening trim plate and the shift control knob and boot assembly must be removed as an assembly and separated outside the vehicle.

Front Floor Console Transmission Opening Trim Plate Assembly

Procedure

Use a flat bladed trim tool and release the retainers securing the front floor console transmission opening trim plate to the console assembly.
Disconnect the electrical connections.
Firmly grasp the shift control knob and pull straight up using enough force to release the retainer clip securing the shift control knob and boot assembly to the shift lever.
When replacing the front floor console transmission opening trim plate, transfer all necessary components.

Tip:

Detaching the shift control knob from the shift lever may require a large amount of physical effort.
The front floor console transmission opening trim plate and the shift control knob and boot assembly must be removed as an assembly and separated outside the vehicle.
