Removal Procedure

    CAUTION: When a hood hold open device is being removed or installed, provide alternate support to avoid the possibility of damage to the vehicle or personal injury.
  1. Open the hood.
  2. Using a grease pencil, mark the location of the hinge on the hood assembly.
  3. Apply tape to the corners of the panels and adjacent surfaces.
  4. Disconnect the windshield washer hose connection. Refer to Washer Nozzle Replacement (Export RHD) or Washer Nozzle Replacement (Export-XA7 LHD) or Washer Nozzle Replacement (LHD) .

  5. Remove the hood assist rods (2). Refer to Hood Open Assist Rod Replacement .

  6. With the aid of an assistant, remove the bolts (2) securing the hood to the hood hinge.
  7. Remove the hood from the vehicle with an assistant.
