Draining Transmission Fluid

^ Tools Required
- J 8614-01 Flange and Pulley Holding Tool
- J 45012 Holding Fixture





1. Remove the fluid pan drain plug (63) and seal (64), and allow the transmission fluid to drain.





2. Put transmission in park.
3. Install either the J 45012 - CTS or J 8614-01 - solstice, to hold the prop shaft flange (31) - model dependent.

4. Important: Discard retainer (30), seal (32), washer (33) and nut (34).

Remove the prop shaft flange nut (34).
5. Remove the prop shaft flange washer (33) and seal (32).
6. Remove the prop shaft flange (31) and the output shaft assembly retainer (30).
7. Slowly rotate the transmission to a vertical position, with the bell housing facing up, and allow any excess fluid to drain.
