Turn Signal Cancel Cam and Upper Bearing Inner Race Replacement

- J 23653-SIR Lock Plate Compressor
- J 42137 Cam Orientation Plate Adapter
Removal Procedure
1. Caution: Refer to SIR Caution in Service Precautions.
Disable the Restraint System system. Refer to Restraint System Disabling and Enabling Zone 3.
2. Remove the Restraint System coil.
3. Remove and discard the bearing retainer using J 23653-SIR and J 42137.
4. Remove the shaft lock (2) or the cam orientation plate (1).
5. Important: Do not wipe the lubricant off the turn signal cancel cam assembly.
Remove the turn signal cancel cam assembly (3).
6. Remove the upper bearing spring (4).
7. Remove the upper bearing inner race seat (5).
8. Remove the inner race (6).
Installation Procedure
1. Install the inner race (6).
2. Install the upper bearing inner race seat (5).
3. Install the upper bearing spring (4).
4. Install the turn signal cancel cam (3).
5. Important: The electrical contact of the turn signal and multifunction switch assembly must rest on the turn signal cancel cam assembly.
Install the shaft lock (2) or the cam orientation plate (1).
6. Install the new bearing retainer using J 23653-SIR and J 42137.
7. Caution: Refer to SIR Inflator Module Coil Caution in Services Precautions.
Install the Restraint System coil.
8. Enable the Restraint System.
