Installation Procedure

  1. Install the shift control assembly to the vehicle.
    2. NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice .
  2. Install the 4 nuts securing the shift control assembly.

    Tighten:  Tighten the nuts to 12 N.m (106 lb in).

  3. Connect the electrical connector to the shift control assembly.

  4. Install the center console assembly. Refer to Front Floor Console Replacement .
  5. Install the shift control trim plate (2).
  6. Install the console trim plate (1).
  7. Transfer the shift control knob from the old shifter to the new shifter. Refer to Transmission Control Lever Knob Replacement .

  8. Raise the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle .
  9. Install the shift control linkage rod to the shift control assembly.
  10. Install the shift control linkage adjustment nut finger tight.
  11. Adjust the shift control linkage. Refer to Shift Control Linkage Adjustment .
