Starter Removal - Off Vehicle

  1. Remove the engine coolant temperature (ECT) sensor from the rear of the right cylinder head.

  3. Remove the knock and crankshaft position sensor wiring harness bolt (1).
  4. Disconnect the knock and crankshaft position sensor wiring harness connectors from the knock sensors and the crankshaft position sensor.
  5. Disconnect the knock and crankshaft position sensor wiring harness from the attaching points in the center, back and front of block valley.

  7. Remove the knock and crankshaft position sensor wiring harness.

  9. Loosen the knock sensor bolts.
  10. Remove the knock sensors.

  12. Remove the crankshaft position sensor bolt.
  13. Remove the crankshaft position sensor.

  15. Remove and discard the crankshaft position sensor O-ring.

  17. Remove the starter motor bolts.
  18. Remove the starter motor and starter motor wiring harness.
