Camshaft Cover Removal - Right Side - Off Vehicle

Tools Required 

EN 46328  Camshaft Holding Tool

  1. Loosen the right camshaft position sensor bolts.
  2. Remove the right camshaft position sensors.

  4. Remove the bolts connecting the right camshaft cover ground strap to the right cylinder head and to the right camshaft cover.
  5. Remove the right camshaft cover ground strap.

  7. Loosen the right camshaft cover bolts.
  8. Remove the right camshaft cover.

    CAUTION: The camshaft holding tools must be installed on the camshafts to prevent camshaft rotation. When performing service to the valve train and/or timing components, valve spring pressure can cause the camshafts to rotate unexpectedly and can cause personal injury.
  10. Install the EN 46328  on the right cylinder head camshafts.
