Fuel Tank Draining Procedure (Front Tank)

Tools Required 

J 45004  Fuel Tank Siphon Hose

CAUTION: Refer to GASOLINE/GASOLINE VAPORS CAUTION in Cautions and Notices.

  1. Remove the fuel fill cap.
  2. Raise and suitably support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle in General Information.
  3. Loosen the fuel fill hose clamp at the front tank.
  4. Remove the fuel fill hose from the front tank.
  5. Insert the siphon hose from J 45004  into the fuel tank.
  6. Attach the siphon hose from J 45004  to the pump device hose.
  7. Using a hand or air operated pump device, drain as much fuel from the tank as possible.
