Installation Procedure

  1. Install NEW seals (1) onto the transmission bypass valve.

  3. Install the bypass valve to the transmission.
  4. NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Cautions and Notices.
  5. Install the bypass valve bolt or stud, depending on the application.

    Tighten:  Tighten the bolt or stud to 25 N.m (18 lb ft).

  6. Install the oxygen sensor wire harness bracket to the stud, if equipped.

  8. Install the oil cooler line bracket to the engine block.

    Tighten:  Tighten the bolt to 25 N.m (18 lb ft).

  10. Install the transmission oil cooler lines to the bypass valve. Install the bolt.

    Tighten:  Tighten the bolt to 25 N.m (18 lb ft).

  11. Remove the drain pan and lower the vehicle.
  12. Fill the transmission to the proper level and check for leaks. Refer to Transmission Fluid Checking Procedure .
