Installation Procedure

  1. If required, install a new oil pan seal using the following procedure:
    1. Clean any residual oil from the seal groove.
    2. Work the seal into the pan groove in both directions around the pan.
  2. Position the oil pan to the crankcase.

    NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Cautions and Notices.
  4. Install the oil pan bolts.

    Tighten:  Tighten the bolts in the sequence shown to 10 N.m (89 lb in).

  6. Install the engine oil level sensor into the oil pan.

    Tighten:  Tighten the sensor to 10 N.m (89 lb in).

  7. Connect the electrical connector to the engine oil level sensor.
  8. Install the front differential carrier. Refer to Differential Carrier Assembly Replacement in Front Drive Axle.
  9. Install the front frame. Refer to Frame Replacement - Front in Frame and Underbody.
  10. Fill the engine oil. Refer to Engine Oil and Oil Filter Replacement .
  11. Remove the engine support fixture. Refer to Engine Support Fixture .
  12. Inspect for oil leaks after engine start up.
