The instantaneous fuel economy is the distance travelled divided by the fuel used over a short period of time. The instantaneous fuel economy parameter is displayed on the DIC in one of the following formats:

The XX represents the calculated instantaneous fuel economy value. The units of the display will correspond to the current IPC setting. The instantaneous fuel economy parameter cannot be reset by the driver. The DIC will display 0 for the English mode, 0 for the Japan mode, and 99 for the metric mode after the battery has been disconnected and then reconnected.
