Instantaneous Fuel Economy (IFE)

Instantaneous fuel economy is calculated using the equation: IFE = Distance/Fuel.

• Distance = The accumulated distance travelled since the last reset of this value
• Fuel = The accumulated fuel delivered since the last reset of this value

The IPC receives a class 2 message from the ECM with fuel information. The distance information is calculated by the IPC using the vehicle speed signal from the ECM. The value of this mode is retained during ignition OFF and can be changed between English units and metric units by pressing the English/Metric button on the DIC switch. The IFE display cannot be reset.
