Removal Procedure

    CAUTION: Refer to SIR Caution in Cautions and Notices.
  1. Disable the SIR. Refer to SIR Disabling and Enabling Zone 7 and SIR Disabling and Enabling Zone 9 in SIR.
  2. Set the parking brake.
  3. Remove the storage bins or the CD changer as needed. Refer to Console Storage Bin Replacement  or Remote CD Changer Replacement in Entertainment.
  4. Remove the console trim plate. Refer to Trim Plate Replacement - Console .
  5. Remove the left console trim panel. Refer to Console Trim Panel Replacement - Left .
  6. Remove the right console trim panel. Refer to Console Trim Panel Replacement - Right .
  7. Disconnect the shifter cable from the shifter. Refer to Automatic Transmission Range Selector Cable Replacement in Automatic Transaxle-4T80-E.
  8. Disconnect the park lock cable from the shifter. Refer to Park Lock Cable Replacement (LHD) or Park Lock Cable Replacement (RHD) in Automatic Transaxle-4T80-E.

  10. Remove the cover (1) from the floor of the storage bin.

  12. Disconnect the electrical connectors (1,2,3) from the center console.
  13. Move both front seats to the rear in order to access the front console to floor fasteners.

  15. Remove the 2 fasteners (1) that secure the metal bracket arms to the floor.
  16. Remove the 2 nuts (2) from the console rear to the floor pan.

  18. Remove the 2 fasteners (2) from the console (1) to the lower instrument panel (I/P).
  19. NOTE: When removing or installing the center console, do not allow the metal brackets to scrape the seats and damage the material.
  20. Lift up the rear of the console and slide the console rearward.
  21. Remove the center console from the vehicle.
