Removal Procedure

- Remove the driver side instrument panel insulator. Refer to Closeout/Insulator Panel Replacement - Left in Instrument Panel, Gages, and Console.
- Disconnect the clutch pedal position switch electrical connector.
- Disconnect the clutch master cylinder push rod from the clutch pedal pin.
- Remove the clutch fluid reservoir retaining bolt.
- Remove the clutch fluid reservoir from the fender reinforcement.
- Remove the coolant surge tank mounting bolts and position the coolant surge tank out of the way. Refer to Surge Tank Replacement (LHD M 35) and/or Surge Tank Replacement (RHD) and/or Surge Tank Replacement (LHD M 82 LY7) and/or Surge Tank Replacement (LHD M 82) and/or Surge Tank Replacement (LHD M35 LS6) and/or Surge Tank Replacement (LS6) in Engine Cooling.
- Remove the spring retainer and disconnect the clutch hydraulic hose. Refer to Hydraulic Clutch Hose/Pipe Replacement (CTS-V) and/or Hydraulic Clutch Hose/Pipe Replacement (CTS) .
- Rotate the clutch master cylinder clockwise 1/8 turn.
- Remove the clutch master cylinder from the cowl.
- Remove the clutch pedal position switch from the clutch master cylinder. Refer to Clutch Pedal Position Switch Replacement .
IMPORTANT:
It is not necessary to drain the coolant or disconnect the coolant lines from the surge tank.
IMPORTANT:
Install a rubber cap over the exposed hose fitting in order to prevent fluid loss and contamination.
