Installation Procedure

WARNING: This page is about a different variant/trim than selected.
  1. Install the clutch pedal position switch to the clutch master cylinder. Refer to Clutch Pedal Position Switch Replacement .

  2. With the clutch fluid reservoir connection at the 2 o'clock position. Insert the clutch master cylinder into the cowl.
  3. Align the keys of the clutch master cylinder housing with the tabs on the clutch pedal bracket.
  4. Rotate the clutch master cylinder counter clockwise approximately 1/8 turn until fully seated. The clutch fluid reservoir hose connection will be at the vertical 12 o'clock position when the clutch master cylinder is properly installed.

  5. Connect the clutch hydraulic hose and install the spring retainer. Refer to Hydraulic Clutch Hose/Pipe Replacement (CTS-V)  and/or Hydraulic Clutch Hose/Pipe Replacement (CTS) .
  6. Install the coolant surge tank. Refer to Surge Tank Replacement (LHD M 35) and/or Surge Tank Replacement (RHD) and/or Surge Tank Replacement (LHD M 82 LY7) and/or Surge Tank Replacement (LHD M 82) and/or Surge Tank Replacement (LHD M35 LS6) and/or Surge Tank Replacement (LS6) in Engine Cooling.

  7. Install the clutch fluid reservoir to the fender reinforcement.
    8. NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Cautions and Notices.
  8. Install the clutch fluid reservoir bolt.

    Tighten:  Tighten the bolt to 36 N.m (27 lb ft).

  9. Position the clutch master cylinder push rod to the clutch pedal pin.
  10. Push the clutch master cylinder push rod onto the clutch pedal pin to secure.
  11. Connect the clutch pedal position switch electrical connector.
  12. Install the driver side instrument panel insulator. Refer to Closeout/Insulator Panel Replacement - Left in Instrument Panel, Gages, and Console.
  13. Bleed the clutch hydraulic system. Refer to Hydraulic Clutch Bleeding (CTS)  and/or Hydraulic Clutch Bleeding (CTS-V) .
