Installation Procedure

  1. Position the timing belt cover to the engine.
    2. NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Cautions and Notices.
  2. Install the timing belt cover bolts.

    Tighten:  Tighten the timing belt cover bolts to 8 N.m (71 lb in).

  3. Position the power steering pump to the accessory mounting bracket.
  4. Install the power steering pump mounting bolts.

    Tighten:  Tighten the power steering pump mounting bolts in sequence to 35 N.m (26 lb ft).

  5. Position the water pump pulley to the water pump.
  6. Install the water pump pulley bolts.

    Tighten:  Tighten the water pump pulley bolts to 8 N.m (71 lb in).

  7. Install the drive belt tensioner. Refer to Drive Belt Tensioner Replacement .
  8. Install the intake plenum. Refer to Intake Plenum Replacement .
  9. Install the intake air resonator. Refer to Intake Air Resonator Replacement in Engine Controls-2.6L and 3.2L.
