Removal Procedure

WARNING: This page is about a different variant/trim than selected.
  1. Remove the oil filter adapter. Refer to Oil Filter Adapter Replacement .
  2. Fig 1: Identifying Oil Cooler Outlet Fitting & Oil Cooler Inlet Fitting

  3. Remove the following from the engine block:
    • The oil cooler outlet fitting (1)
    • The oil cooler inlet fitting (2)
  4. Lower the vehicle.
  5. Remove the following components according to the RPO code:
  6. Remove the water crossover. Refer to Coolant Crossover Pipe Replacement (LA3, LY9) in Engine Cooling.

  8. Remove the following from the engine oil cooler:
    • The oil cooler inlet fitting
    • The oil cooler outlet fitting

  10. Note the positioning of the 4 seals.
  11. Remove the oil cooler lines from the engine.
