Installation Procedure

WARNING: This page is about a different variant/trim than selected.
  1. Position the oil cooler lines to the engine.

    NOTE: Refer to Component Fastener Tightening Notice in Cautions and Notices.
  3. Install the oil cooler inlet and outlet fittings to the engine oil cooler.

    Use 4 new seals.

    Tighten: 

    • Tighten the oil cooler inlet fitting to 30 N.m (22 lb ft).
    • Tighten the oil cooler outlet fitting to 30 N.m (22 lb ft).

  4. Install the water crossover. Refer to Coolant Crossover Pipe Replacement (LA3, LY9) in Engine Cooling.
  5. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle in General Information.

  7. Install the oil cooler inlet (2) and outlet fittings (1) to the engine block.

    Tighten: 

    • Tighten the oil cooler inlet fitting (2) to 30 N.m (22 lb ft).
    • Tighten the oil cooler outlet fitting (1) to 30 N.m (22 lb ft).

  8. Install the oil filter adapter. Refer to Oil Filter Adapter Replacement .
  9. Install the following components according to the RPO code:
