Removal Procedure

WARNING: This page is about a different variant/trim than selected.
  1. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle in General Information.
  2. Remove the right catalytic converter. Refer to Catalytic Converter Replacement - Right (LA3, LY9) in Engine Exhaust.
  3. Remove the starter. Refer to Starter Motor Replacement (LA3, LY9) in Engine Electrical.
  4. Install a screw jack with a block of wood under the oil pan for support.
  5. Remove the right engine mount upper retaining nut.
    IMPORTANT: Ensure not to distort or bend the engine mount heat shield.

  6. Remove the right engine mount bracket mounting bolts.

  7. Remove the engine mount bracket from the vehicle.
