Removal Procedure

  1. Remove the engine flywheel from the crankshaft. Refer to Engine Flywheel Replacement .
    2. Fig 1: Identifying Self-Tapping Screw

  2. Center punch the steel ring of the rear main oil seal.
  3. Carefully drill a small, shallow, pilot hole into the steel ring of the rear main oil seal.
  4. Screw in a self-tapping screw.
  5. Use pliers to pull the rear main oil seal out.
  6. Clean all sealing surfaces.
