Timing Belt Cover Installation - Rear

  1. Install the right side knock sensor.
    2. NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Cautions and Notices.
  2. Install the right side knock sensor bolt.

    Tighten:  Tighten the right side knock sensor bolt to 20 N.m (15 lb ft).

  3. Install the left side knock sensor.
  4. Install the left side knock sensor bolt.

    Tighten:  Tighten the left side knock sensor bolt to 20 N.m (15 lb ft).

  5. Install the timing belt rear cover.
  6. Install the knock sensor wires.
  7. Apply thread adhesive GM P/N 12345382, (Canadian P/N 10953489), to the timing belt rear cover bolts and threaded pin.
  8. Install the timing belt rear cover bolts.

    Tighten:  Tighten the timing belt rear cover bolts to 8 N.m (71 lb in).

  9. Install the timing belt rear cover threaded pin.

    Tighten:  Tighten the timing belt rear cover threaded pin to 10 N.m (89 lb in).
