Crankshaft and Bearings Removal

  1. Remove the crankshaft bearing bridge bolts.

  3. Remove the main bearing cap bolts.

  5. Remove the crankshaft bearing bridge.

  7. Remove the first main bearing cap.
  8. Remove the first main bearing cap lower insert.
  9. Remove the second main bearing cap.
  10. Remove the second main bearing cap lower insert.
  11. Remove the third main bearing cap.
  12. Remove the third main bearing cap lower insert.
  13. Perform the following steps to remove the fourth main bearing cap:
    1. Insert a bolt into the main bearing cap oil pan threaded hole or pry the crankshaft and drain the bearing cap from the block using a pry bar at each end of the flywheel.
    2. Use a pry bar to remove the cap from the block.
    3. Remove the fourth main bearing cap.
    4. Remove the fourth main bearing cap lower insert.
  14. Carefully remove the crankshaft.
  15. Remove the main bearing upper inserts from the block.

  17. Remove the crankshaft position sensor bolt.
  18. Remove the crankshaft position sensor.

  20. Remove the crankshaft reluctor ring bolts.
  21. Remove the crankshaft reluctor ring.
