Removal Procedure

  1. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle in General Information.
    2. Fig 1: Identifying Heated Oxygen Sensor Connector & Engine Harness Connector

  2. Disconnect the heated oxygen sensor connector from the engine harness connector.

    NOTE: Refer to Oxygen Sensor Notice in Cautions and Notices.
    IMPORTANT: Removal of the oxygen sensor is easier when the engine temperature is above 48°C (120°F).
  3. Remove the heated oxygen sensor using the J 39194  . See Special Tools and Equipment .
