Removal Procedure

  1. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle in General Information.
    2. Fig 1: Disconnecting Vehicle Speed Sensor (VSS) Electrical Connector

  2. Disconnect the vehicle speed sensor (VSS) electrical connector.
    3. Fig 2: Removing VSS Retainer Bolt

  3. Remove the VSS retainer bolt.
  4. Remove the VSS by pulling the VSS straight out of the transmission.
  5. Remove the O-ring from the VSS only if the O-ring needs to be replaced.
