Installation Procedure

  1. If the O-ring has been removed. Install a new O-ring.
  2. Lubricate the O-ring with DEXRON®-III transmission fluid.
  3. Install the vehicle speed sensor (VSS) to the transmission.
    4. NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Cautions and Notices.
  4. Install the VSS retainer bolt.

    Tighten:  Tighten the bolt to 10 N.m (89 lb in).

  5. Connect the VSS electrical connector to the VSS.
  6. Lower the vehicle.
