Draining Procedure

  1. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle in General Information.
  2. Clean away all dirt and debris from the transmission fluid drain plug area.

  4. Remove the transmission fluid drain plug and washer.
  5. Allow the transmission fluid to drain into an appropriate container for proper disposal.
  6. Clean away all dirt and debris from the drain plug magnet.
  7. NOTE: Refer to Component Fastener Tightening Notice in Cautions and Notices.

  8. Install the transmission fluid drain plug and washer.

    Tighten:  Tighten the plug to 35 N.m (26 lb ft).
