Transmission Fluid Level Inspection

Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle in General Information.
Clean any dirt from around the fluid fill plug (1).

Check that the transmission fluid level is even with the bottom of the fill plug hole.
Add DEXRON®-III transmission fluid, if necessary.

NOTE: Refer to Component Fastener Tightening Notice in Cautions and Notices.

Install the transmission fluid fill plug and washer (1)
Tighten: Tighten the plug to 35 N.m (26 lb ft).
Lower the vehicle.
